Where will this go?

Hi,

Haven't blogged for a while as I can't work out how this shitting website works now.

Call me a technological retard (probably rightly) but this whole setup is much less user friendly than it used to be..

So anyway, it's the summer, and I LOVE the long balmy evenings. I wish they would go on forever. I am definitely a summer person.

The best thing about the summer is cycling round at night in the city. The sense of freedom you get is unbelievable!

It has been mental at work though and I am just about knackered.

Having a few issues with some colleagues being incompetent at the moment. Can't be arsed to go into it though!

COL

And now I shall write a whole entry dedicated to col because I forgot to mention that on MY BIRTHDAY she came over to my house and we went to the pub and played lots of incessant singstar.

She is a kind beast, I like her- although am still waiting for my annual (auto)biographical addition to my "literature" collection. (eg: Life is a roller coaster, ronan keating, "star" a "novel" by "pamela anderson")

KIND.

The grass

The grass seems to be growing at an inordinate rate. I think this may be due to the fact that I do not own a grass cutter (sorry lawnmower- it's late) so have to cut the grass using a pair of hedgecutters.

Had to do an assembly at a primary school in Feltham this morning on wildlife. I seem to have developed an unexpected confidence while public speaking. Can't work out whether this is due to being too tired to see the people or whether have got better at public speaking. Hmm.

Am going to sleep now safe in the knowledge that no beeping alarrm wlill awaken me in he mornnning: bliss. Nite! xx

Birthday

Well hello!

It was MY BIRTHDAY on Thursday and I have had a lovely few days as a result and have been thoroughly spoiled.

The family came up on the big day (am now very old: 24) and we all went and bathed in the glorious sunshine amid the dinosaurs of Crystal Palace Park. We then endured the bus full of rowdy school kids and went down to lovely Croydon, shopping and finally went out for dinner to that thai (beautiful) in Crystal Palace.

The following evening I was taken out for a gorgeous (and too expensive -naughty Michael) meal on a REAL live boat which was very exciting. I had a perfect steak which melted in the mouth.. mmmmm, but the staff were very shit and rude (don't go to the Lightship in St Katherine's docks for the service!!)

Then yesterday we had a rounders extravaganza, in the park again (amid the dinosaurs) and later went to the pub.

I LOVE rounders, although it does bring out a rather nasty competitive streak in my nature.

Today we have had a BBQ at my Auntie Sally's house.

SO all in all a very nice time was had.

(and I received a Poirot DVD- oh YES!!! Love poirot.)

SICK!!!

Hello everybody, I have finally retured from my gadding. I love this time of year. There are so many bank holidays/ easter holidays - you name it- all of which combine to mean you spend comparatively little time at work- and EVEN better- there is finally some sun about. (more than most things I hate winter).

So have just been skiing with the family, which was brill (apart from a terrinble puking episode experienced on the first day, during which I threw up half way down a ski slope: definitely one of the most disgusting things I have ever done- and what is worse is that it had nothing to do with alcohol consumption. My sister had it too and she was spewing blood. NOT nice!!). I am now a pro skier, and will throw myself down pretty much anything. yay.

Right so I know you are all dying to know garden progress. Well the grass seed has now germinated (much to my relief, as that was one of the landlords stipulations when he agreed to me digging up the garden- do what you like but there had better be grass when you leave the house). We now have a new minor problem being that I have sown a whole load of seeds but one of the things I rather forgot to do was label the seeds i have sown , so it's now a bit of a waiting game to see what comes up where before I sow anything else. Minor details.

A couple of  my friends from home have just got engaged (very freaky!) And what is more freaky is that the groom is the brother of the best friend of the bride (if that makes any sense). Anyway I met up with the bride and the brides best friend (who is also the bridesmaid) on monday and spent a long time saying things such as: "When you have kids you guys will be the aunts of each other's children and your children will be cousins" etc, which was quite fun for me but freaked them out a bit haha!!! They are going to be sisters in law!!!!

Anyway that's me. I have to go to Manchester to run  a teacher training course now. Am v important and clever. Byeee!!

Garden update:

Have sown the grass seed now. (is it sown or sowed?) Anyway, it was a bit tricky as I don't own a rake at the moment, so I had to do it with a child sized fork (don't ask..!). What problems can stones cause anyway? The seed has not germinated yet but be sure I will let you know when it does. Oh yes.

Also on my list of "to purchase for the garden" is a watering can with one of those sprinkly bits on the end. Do you think it will matter that I haven't watered my grass seed?

Have been away in Innsbruck all week for work. Quite exciting. managed to get a day's skiing in and did a black run. Am very proud of myself. Unfortunately not so successful when we went off piste. Managed to end up sliding down the mounntain on my backside with my skis pointing up the slope. Oh well. Am due to go with my family at the beginning of April so there's still room for improvement this year. Also went to a "rock club" and danced to german hip hop. Am way cool.
